Trainers
Every patient that is seen at the Massachusetts Veterinary Behavior Service will receive a treatment plan that includes behavior modification and environmental management. In some cases, a psychopharmacological treatment would also be a part of the plan. That is why we always recommend that the patient will continue to work closely with a trainer. Because our diagnosis and treatment plan is based on scientific research, we do NOT advise using punishment-based training, or any aversive tools such as prong or electric collars.
Although we do not give vet-to-trainer consultation, please let us know if you have any questions about the consultation process, or about veterinary behavior in general and we will be happy to assist.
